Hurricane preparedness reminder

Hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30 each year. Although we’re more than 200 miles inland, tropical systems can still have serious and devastating impacts. Hurricane Hugo and, more recently, Hurricane Helene are reminders of the severe weather our region can experience.

Keep at least a 72-hour supply of essential emergency items for your household. An emergency supply checklist, such as Ready.gov’s Build a Kit list, can help you check what you have. Stay safe, stay prepared, and monitor weather conditions through the end of the season.
